The Book of Zephaniah
3 chapters. Preaching in the days of King Josiah, Zephaniah announces “the great day of the LORD” over Judah, Jerusalem, and the surrounding nations — a day against idolatry, complacency, and pride. Yet the same book calls the humble to “seek the LORD, seek righteousness, seek humility,” and ends with one of the most startling promises in Scripture: the LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who saves, who “will rejoice over you with gladness” and “exult over you with loud singing.”
